The first shipments from Colombia have arrived!! And we're starting with a delicious coffee from Tolima, one of Colombia's most famous coffee-growing regions!!
THE FARM
José Anargel Rodriguez is one of the best-known coffee producers in Tolima today. His coffee from the Morro Azul farm won the 2016 Tierra de Diversidad competition for best acidity and most exotic coffee, organized by the National Federation of Coffee Growers.
Julieta, José's wife, is managing this new project. And today we can enjoy the first sacks from their new farm, El Balcón, in China Alta, Ibagué. It's a 6-hectare farm planted with Caturra coffee trees at a density of less than 7,000 trees per hectare. Located on a hillside, the coffee plants grow along the slope. The coffee is processed on-site using the wet method. For drying, they built a tunnel with three levels of drying beds.
