HISTORY
Nicaragua San Juan is a beautiful micro-lot named after the region where it is grown, San Juan del Rico Coco. The location is a fertile valley along the Coco River near the municipality of El Jícaro.
This coffee is the sum of the efforts of regional coffee growers from different farms who have unanimously opted to cultivate organic coffee trees and are classified as fair trade.
This is a regional blend that we take great pride in, representing all the coffee growers in the area. It stood out among other Nicaraguan coffees on our table, and we've added it to our June espresso menu, highlighting its natural sweetness and the characteristic acidity of this origin.
COOPERATIVE
The 25 de Marzo Multiple Services Cooperative was founded in 2008 in the Municipality of San Juan de Río Coco in the Department of Madriz.
Currently, it has a membership of 92 members, of which 23 are women and 69 are men who have productive coffee farms in different areas of the municipality such as: Las Grietas Community, La Dalia, El Bálsamo, El Varillal, El Naranjo, El Majaste, Las Brisas, Samarkanda and El Achiote.
The total production area is 283.47 hectares, for a production of 5,805.45 quintals of exportable green coffee. Quite a titanic task.
