Currently, Rwanda's coffee industry produces exceptional coffees. The path has clearly not been easy, but through the leadership of a committed government, educational projects, and strategic planning, a solid foundation for this success has been laid. Today, approximately 420,000 people are directly or indirectly involved in the coffee industry. Prices for quality coffee are more stable than those for commercial coffee, which has improved the quality of life for many coffee farmers and their families. Furthermore, coffee also contributes to the reconciliation of the main ethnic groups: Hutus and Tutsis; as we have seen them working together, shoulder to shoulder, to produce more and better coffee.
THE CAR WASH STATION
Huye Mountain Coffee carefully selects each batch by hand. They use two processing methods: washed and natural. After fermentation, the coffee is sun-dried on African tables. Finally, it is hand-sorted to ensure that only the finest coffee beans are processed.
Huye Mountain Coffee produces 1,500 tons of cherries per year, for which it has a considerable export market. Huye Mountain Coffee comes from the Maraba region.
